“You want to use Theatre.

For what?

Some of us say to understand the world we live in, but we also boast a few idealists who think that Theatre might have something to do with changing it.”

Are We There Yet?

A riotous, satirical play that breaks apart the hostile environment, climate crisis, immigration, gender-based violence, and the rise of the far right—all while making you laugh (and maybe cry) at the sheer absurdity of it all.

Whilst the elite syphon up the wealth and play with our rights like a game of cards, hoarding more than they could spend in a million lifetimes, down below, the wasted humans —the superfluous, and other outcasts —are left wondering: will anything ever trickle back down?
Inspired by Zygmunt Bauman’s Modernity and Its Outcasts, we expose the toxic relationships between people, nations, and power itself.

Told through dark comedy, multilingual storytelling, and absurd spectacle, with integrated BSL, audio description, and audience participation, Are We There Yet?  is theatre that won’t sit still. Using the Refugee Week theme “Community as a Superpower'', we turn the spotlight on the audience—what happens next is up to you.

News stories break on our screens every day, many new stories every single day that give an account that is told from a particular point of view.

We asked refugees and asylum seekers what their headlines would be - and to air these views as breaking news, stories that matter to them and an opportunity to present a counter narrative in a world where so often their own experience and version of events may be overlooked or left unheard.

What do you really think and feel about our current times?
